I am so happy that I decided to send my son to the Beccles School. The size of the school suits him perfectly and I love how all the staff seem to know him. There is a sense of community in the school that I think must be due to its size.

Mobile Phones

Following Government changes in legislation SMART enabled devices are no longer permitted to be used by students on school sites.

The Department for Education (DfE) expects schools to implement a policy whereby pupils do not have access to their mobile phone throughout the school day including during lessons, the time between lessons, breaktimes and lunchtime.

Students are required to keep their mobile phones switched off and stored in their bags throughout the school day. Phones should not be used unless directed by a teacher. If a phone is used without permission, it will be taken to reception until the end of the day. Phones may only be used in the Pastoral Team or office for urgent contact home. Additionally, students are advised not to bring valuables to school.

This policy is being implemented to ensure a focused learning environment, reduce distractions, and prioritize students’ safety and well-being throughout the school day.
