Primary to Secondary school applications for September 2027 entry open in September 2026 and close on the 31st October 2026
When you have applied, the Local Authority will offer you a school place on the 1st March 2027 (National Offer Day).
Late applications
If your child is due to transfer to secondary school in September 2027 and you haven’t applied, you can make a late application by completing a paper application form. A paper application form can be downloaded from the Local Authority website.

Applications close – 31st October 2026
National Offer Day (when you get your school offer) – 1st March 2027
Appeals closing date - 13th April 2027
Appeal hearings take place – 16th June 2027
